Since I am an amateur photographer I thought I should have a page dedicated exclusively to photography.
Even though I read extensively about cameras and exposure and composion, as well as, taking some basic courses, I am not a very skilled photographer. I do not have a natural talent or an eye for composition so every good photo is a small victory.
I primarily use digital SLR now. Nikon D300 is my current camera. I also have Holgas, Nikon F80, Nikon FM, Canon Sure Shot WP-1 (weatherproof, film). Some of my lenses include: 50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, 60mm f/2.8, 18-55mm, and 70-300mm. Basic filters, tripod, Nikon SB-400 flash pretty much round up my equipment.
I post most of my decent photos on my Flickr account.
I belong to a number of groups on that site but the ones worth noting are Macro Mondays, Pretty Pink Tuesdays, and Bokeh Wednesdays. Additionally I belong to a photo club called 13 Kadr.
The club is based in L’viv Ukraine. I joined at the urging of my best friend. It has not been a very active club lately but there are about a dozen fellow amateur photographers who occasionally communicate and share their work. We also get monthly assignments that are submitted for the whole club to judge and comment on.
I plan to post my assignments and my submissions on the blog so I will provide more details as I go along.
