Mistakingly believing that I can duplicate the previous, more successful, result I decided to photograph the rest of my Futurama action figures to document the whole collection.
Since my mating Zoidberg arrived this week I could not wait to try the idea of portraying my own army of Zoidbergs. I have tried various arrangement but they did not work. The main problems were bad lighting and a color setting that produced unnaturally vivid colors. My main attempt was to produce a Warhol-like image, so I was in a rush to photograph and start on the processing. Here is the result: 
All the other photos that I shot at that time were of similar poor quality. I took an opportunity later to re-shoot and correct some of the mistakes. The results were slightly better but still not completely satisfactory. I could not repeat the same quality as I had with Zapp and Kif figures. The light was similarly diffused but brighter, the background was at approximately the same distance but of a slightly different quality. I am not certain of other details, but I believe that I was shooting a slower exposure because I needed a smaller aperture at a low ISO.
I encountered similar problems when shooting the crew of Planet Express ship. The photo seems almost washed out. I cannot decide what is the exact problem. I know that it was not a professional shoot and the light was not exactly right but I did try a number of settings. In the end I did not achieve a very good result no matter what I tried.
Well, there are a few new figures in production so I will keep trying. Perhaps some of my future attempts will produce better images.
It has a very soft cover that is also very pleasant to the touch. The pages in themselves have nothing special, just a regular lined journal. But it looks cool! I found it in Home Sense and I am still thrilled about it. It was a fortunate and a unique find. My obsession with journals did not play any part in this purchase. I have been buying only Kukuzumusu notebooks lately, but that time I could not resist trying something new.
